Celebrate a Milestone with Your Photos
Milestones mark the growth and accomplishment in a person's life and this June, my son is graduating from high school. Next to their first steps, this is a huge milestone for him. It marks the completion of secondary education, but it also marks the passage into adulthood. #imnotcryingyourcrying
We’ve made some plans but it occurred to me that much of this celebration is centered around photos. It’s been fun to walk back through his whole life and see how much he’s changed. When they tell you it goes fast, I just didn’t have any clue what that really meant until now.
It’s moments like this when having an organized photo collection that can really come in handy. With so many options to create a meaningful memory of this milestone, here are a few things we considered:
First day of school timeline
Perhaps you’ve snapped a picture on the first day of school for the last twelve years and showing this progression through a timeline can be fun to hang up or publish in a photo book or album
Creating a photo book or album
This can be a digital or physical album that can include: their first day of school photos, significant school events or accomplishments, sporting events, or words of wisdom from teachers and family members
Creating a video montage
Similar to a photo book, videos are fun to showcase during a gathering and can include short movie clips, photos, or maybe their favorite songs
Photo gifts
You can put a picture on anything: clothing, mugs, canvas, sleepwear, socks, etc., perhaps it’s a parting gift for your guests or something you want to give to your child as a keepsake
Graduation announcements or cards
Announcements don’t have to include just their senior picture but include pictures from their first day of school or when they were a baby
